Terms & Conditions
This document constitutes the terms and conditions upon which Gustro Limited agrees to supply goods and/or services (the Goods and Services) to the Customer on the following terms and pursuant to Purchase Orders provided by the Customer to Gustro Limited. No subsequent Purchase Orders will supersede these terms and conditions of sale.
1.1 The section headings in these terms and conditions are inserted for convenience only and are not intended to affect the meaning or interpretation of the terms and conditions.
1.2 The following terms when capitalized have been ascribed meaning provided to them following each term and are to be interpreted as to their common usage:
a) Business Day means a day on which business is conducted within Uganda which operates between 9:00 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday for Gustro Limited excluding Saturday, Sunday and published Ugandan public holidays applying to any site where operations apply as published by the Government of Uganda.
b) Customer means the party who received the quotation from Gustro Limited and subsequently issues a Purchase Order in exchange for good consideration is to receive Goods and/or Services from Gustro Limited.
c) Goods mean any tangible or intangible product to be delivered by Gustro Limited and includes books, charts, learning aids, stationery and other commodities related to any of the foregoing.
d) Services means the services included but not limited to sourcing of titles, packaging, special delivery and or any other services to be performed by Gustro Limited and its employees.
e) Pricing means the monetary value assigned to goods and/or services set out on the quotation as provided by Gustro Limited inclusive of Clearing and Shipping Fees.
f) Purchase Order means the commercial document and first official offer issued by Gustro Limited to the customer indicating price, name of good(s), quantity of goods, discounts and total cash amount for said good(s). A 50% deposit is required to process such an order.
g) On-Demand Purchase Order means the commercial document and first official offer issued by Gustro Limited to the customer for goods that are not regularly or currently in stock at Gustro Limited. A 50% deposit is required to process such an order. This document indicates price, name of good(s), quantity of goods, discounts and total cash amount for said good(s).
h) Refunds means Gustro Limited may pay back money to a customer for goods purchased should the customer have a valid reason for returning these goods and said goods are in the same condition as they were when they were purchased.
- GOODS AND SERVICES
2.1 Gustro Limited sells educational books and stationery at wholesale and retail to the general public, NGOs, parastatals, medical and learning institutions. Gustro Limited also offers consolidation of books through government awarded tenders.
2.2 Return Policy
Gustro Limited will only accept returns of books not exceeding 7 business days from the date of purchase.
Any stationery item once sold is not returnable.
This policy will be printed on the back of all our invoices and statements.
Gustro Limited is only able to offer a cash or credit refund for a book/books returned within 7 business days of purchase in the same condition as it was purchased. This means any dirt/marks, writing, folds or tears anywhere on the returned book will render it unacceptable by Gustro Limited for return.
2.4 Losses Disclaimer
Gustro Limited is not liable for any damages on books in transit to Gustro Limited and will therefore not accept any damaged books for exchange or refund.
- PRICING AND PAYMENT
3.1 Prices displayed on books, stationery on this website and on Gustro Price Lists are subject to change without notice. All prices are inclusive of tax, shipping fees as well as after sales packaging.
Gustro Limited accepts payment in the following forms:
1. Cash deposit or electronic funds transfer payment into Gustro Limited accounts at Stanbic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Bank of Africa (U) Limited.
2. Cash payment at our cashier on the first floor of Gustro Book Centre.
3. Cheques not exceeding UGX 20,000,000/- (twenty million Uganda shillings only).
4. Payment of items purchased on credit from Gustro Limited is due within 45 days.
5. Payment of large credit wholesale purchases must be made within 60 days.
6. Failure to make these payments will result in cancellation of credit account.
7. Insufficient payment or issuing of bouncing cheques will result in payment strictly by cash.
- PURCHASE ORDER
4.1 Customers with large orders for schools, learning institutions or other large orders should submit a list of their required items with quantities to Gustro Bookshop on the 1st floor of Gustro Book Centre in person or via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and include their names, name of the institution and phone numbers. Gustro Limited staff will notify them once their order is ready.
4.2 On-Demand Purchase Order
Customers with large orders for items shipped in on demand i.e. items that Gustro Limited does not regularly stock, will with effect from May 1st 2020, require a 50% deposit on placement of order and 50% final payment on receipt of the order by the customer.
4.3 Exception will be given to large organizations whose on-demand purchase orders will be processed on receipt by Gustro Limited of their official Local Purchase Orders. Full payment will however will be required within 7 business days of delivery.

5.1 All Gustro Logos and branding are under the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act, 2006.
5.2 Gustro Limited follows the governing laws of Uganda and seeks to enforce them in all its transactions.
6.1 Gustro Limited is not liable for any injuries to customers/visitors on company premises.
Gustro Limited is not liable for the loss of any property left unattended. Customers and visitors are advised to mind their property at all times.
6.2 Gustro Limited is also not liable for the accuracy of comments made by third parties on the Gustro website and neither does Gustro Limited or its staff endorse any of these comments.
